Robert "Bob" Lee Elsberry
6/14/1939 - 4/3/2018
Bob was born on June 14, 1939 in Grand Junction, CO to Bill and Faye Elsberry. He was raised in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School, Class of 1957. After graduation Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 aboard the USS Laffey destroyer "The Ship That Would Not Die." After returning to Grand Junction Bob met and married Wanda McBride, his wife of 53 years. Together Bob and Wanda raised two children, Ron and Christi.
Bob spent his career as a Master Plumber in the Grand Valley. He was very active at Orchard Mesa Little League for many years in varying capacities but was always there when needed. He was a founding member and served on the Board of Directors for the Orchard Mesa Sanitation District for over 30 years. He served on the Ute Water Conservancy Board of Directors for many years. Bob was loved by many and remembered as a fun loving practical joker. He loved to hun t and fish on his beloved Grand Mesa and enjoyed watching his kids and grand kids in their many activities.
Bob is survived by his wife Wanda; Son, Ron (Kate) Elsberry of Grand Junction; Daughter, Christi (Kevin) Frandsen of Grand Junction; Brother, Bill (Paula) Elsberry of Castle Rock, CO; Brother, Jim (Eldora) Elsberry of Grand Junction; Grandson Ryan (Kristin) Elsberry; Grand daughter Elisa; and two Great-Grandchildren Paisley and Raxton all of Grand Junction.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 11th, 10:00 am at Brown's Cremation Chapel 904 N. 7th Street, followed by internment at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway at 1:00 pm
