Robert Eric Wilson was born in Yreka, CA to parents Robert and Ellen Wilson. He was raised on the Klamath River where his father was the manager of a PP&L power plant. Bob graduated from Siskiyou High School and went on to join the National Guard. Following his discharge he went to work for the Forest Service.
He then met and married his wife Phyllis Osborne in Red Bluff, CA and had two children, Devin and Stacy. From there he went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation where he worked on various dam projects in several states. They settled in Montrose, CO in 1975 where he worked on the Crystal and Ridgeway dams. He proudly worked on the Ridgeway Dam "from the first load of dirt to the very last". He also was a volunteer fire fighter, logger, and even owned a tree service that he and Devin continued for over three decades.
Bob's greatest love was serving the lord. He was always active in the church volunteering in any way he could. In 2010 his life took on a whole new meaning when he joined the Country Gospel Music Association singing and whistling at different conventions with his daughter, Stacy, and Granddaughter, Ashlee. He earned the Western U.S. Whistler of the Year award in 2010, 2011, and 2012. He continued to sing gospel and bluegrass every chance he could, preforming at cowboy churches, nursing homes, and events.
Robert loved the outdoors and riding mules with his wife and side-by-sides with his son and family. He never met a stranger and was very loved by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his: Wife, Phyllis Son, Devin and wife Shelly Daughter, Stacy and husband Michael Jensen His Grand Children, Brandy, Ashlee, Andy, Darrel, and their spouses and children.
