Robert C. Jetmore, 95, of Clifton passed away at his home with his granddaughter and best friend, Ben (his dog) by his side.
Robert a.k.a Bobby J. was born in Forsyth MT. on December 22,1924, the son of Montrose Williams Jetmore and Ruth E. Carlson. He was the first of 7 siblings. Following his education he joined the Army in 1942 and was stationed in New York and in Europe. He married Betty Kendall. Together they had a daughter Patricia. His marriage to Betty ended indivorce.
He then enlisted into the Air Force.
Robert was honorably discharged from the air force in 1951 and returned to California. On the way there he met a young gal from Twin Falls Idaho. He arranged a seat next to her which eventually led to a romance with Laurine Heaton, and on Dec. 24, 1954 they were married. Together they had 5 children-Dennis, Marc, Kathie, Laurie, and Roger. Robert and Laurine were blessed with 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Robert was a hot tar roofer for over 30yrs, toward the end of that career he had the privilege of teaching American roofing techniques in Europe. Robert also enjoyed a few years as a long haul truck driver in his younger years. Robert and Laurine sold their California home in 1985 and had the privilege of returning to the great state of Montana to retire. A few years later they started going to the Friday night golden age dances in Hamilton and in 1998 they join the Five Valley Accordion Association. Robert decided to start singing...he always had music in his heart. When he wasn’t singing or dancing he enjoyed playing cards at the senior center in Victor and Stevensville, Montana. On December 9, 2014 Robert lost his bride of almost 60 years of marriage. After sometime his son, Mark Jetmore moved him to Clifton, Colorado to be closer to him. During the time that he was in Colorado he became very close to his granddaughter, Katie Jetmore and together they adopted A Shih Tzu they named Ben, whom he absolutely adored. Robert was preceded in death by his bride Laurine E. Heaton-Jetmore, his daughter Pat Kendall-Jetmore-Brittain, his daughter Laurie Jetmore, his mother and father Montrose and Ruth, his sisters Beatrice, Helen and his brother Aubrey. His grandsons Mike Shmuck, and Brandon Skaggs. He is survived by his sister Sandy, Roselyn and brother John.
His sons Dennis, Mark, Roger Jetmore and his daughter Kathie Skaggs as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. A private family gathering will take place at a later time.
