In loving memory, Robert John Parker, 88, of Fruita, Colorado, quietly passed away at his home, on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. His wishes for cremation are being honored. Robert (Bob) Parker was born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929 in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. He was an only-child and lived in Hayward, WI throughout his school years. During high school, he played football and participated in the school band. In 1948 Bob enlisted in the US Air Force which turned into a twenty-six year career as a military photographer. In 1952, Bob married Patricia (Pat) McBride and together raised their daughter, Lana, and son, Jack. Bob’s career included assignments in the Korean War and the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. At other times, Bob and his family lived in Southern California, Denver, Orlando and Japan. Bob’s photography career was also his favorite hobby by which he captured many, many wonderful photos and placed highly in many photo contests. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Pat, in 2006 and is survived by his adult children, Lana (Ted) and Jack (Joni). He was also loved by four grand children, Steve Vindiola (Venus), Dave Vindiola (Mandy), Kristen Talkington (Callie), and Ryan Parker. Also, very special to him were four great–grandchildren, Rylan and CJ Talkington and Parker and Tyler Vindiola. Bob also remained in-touch with step-sisters, Koral Parker and Vicky Doss of Siren, WI.
