Robert Darrel Peach

November 24, 1936 — February 19, 2025

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Robert Darrel Peach, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 88. Bob was born on November 24, 1936, in Grand Junction, CO to Franklin Joseph Peach and Rose Josephine Bochatay Peach. He grew up in the Appleton area and had a wonderful childhood. As an only child, Bob was surrounded by grandparents and many cousins with whom he had so many fond memories. He was the oldest of the cousins and they all looked up to him. One of his favorite memories of his childhood was going on the Grand Mesa and staying at his Grandpa’s cabin near Mesa Lake.

He attended Appleton School, graduating in 1954. He was the salutatorian of his class. Following graduation, he attended Mesa College before joining the National Guard. After his service, he joined his father in caring for the family farm. Bob loved farming. He was a farmer extraordinaire and was sought after for his skill and knowledge in the farming community.

Bob married the love of his life, Judie Mihelich, on September 1, 1966. They were married for 58 years and the parents of 3 wonderful children: Tony, Laurey, and Karen. Bob and Judie enjoyed many activities together – snowmobiling, motorcycling, and skiing.

Bob retired from farming at the age of 62. Retirement didn’t last long, though, as he was asked to work at Horsethief Conservation Area, which he did for 10 years. During this time, he restored his 1936 Ford Coupe. He loved putting it together, loved driving it, and won several awards for his hard work. As Bob and Judie got older, they enjoyed working in the yard, going to car shows, and spending time with their grandchildren.

As devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bob and Judie served a church mission in Sharon, VT in 2009. Bob exemplified service in every area of his life.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judie; his children: Tony Belcastro (Kim); Laurey Marsh (Spencer); and Karen Lowell (Keith); and grandchildren Matthew Lowell (Tyler Michelle), Ashleigh Lowell, and Ethan Marsh. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jeffrey Robert Lowell.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
