Robert Cole Proctor

Cole was born July 24, 1938, to Glen and Morine Proctor. He was raised in Meeker Colorado.

After graduation from Meeker High School, Cole joined the military. He served in the US Army with the 596 Transportation Company, 11th Airborne Division of the 7th Army; and was stationed in Munich Germany. Cole was honorably discharged.

While on duty with the Army Reserves in Colorado Springs, he met Bernice Jackson. Cole and Bernice married in 1961.

 They lived in eastern Colorado for several years before returning to western Colorado in 1969. 

Cole worked in automotive, farm equipment, and steel fabrication. He retired in 2001 from his job as a welder for Rio Blanco County. 

After retiring Cole and Bernice made their home in the Grand Junction area. 

Cole enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in the Meeker area. He was an avid reader. Cole's favorite hobbies were gunsmithing, repairing and rebuilding fly rods, fabricating metal work art and making jewelry. 

Cole was preceded in death by his wife Bernice, sister Lois, and parents Glen and Morine. He is survived by his daughters Gayla Tankersley; Shana Podbevsek (Keith); Granddaughter Brooke Nelson (Justin), Great Grandson Dean Nelson; Grandsons Keane and Devin Podbevsek.
