Robert Wood

Robert Matthew Wood went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 3, 2022, surrounded by family and faithful friends.

He was born July 1, 1952, in San Diego, California to John Wood and Mildred (Petry) Wood, he was the youngest of 3 sons. His family moved back to the Denver area when Robert was a young child.

His growing years were in the Littleton/Greenwood Village area through high school graduating from Littleton High School in 1970.

Robert (Rob/Bob) knew from an early age, he wanted to be in Law Enforcement and help people. Working alongside his Father, Dr. John Wood, Forensic Pathologist/Arapahoe County Coroner, was the beginning of his Civil Service and Law Enforcement career. This career choice would span almost 30 years.

Rob began this career at Englewood Police Department as a Dispatcher. Went on to Sheridan Police Department as a Patrolman, Douglas County Sheriffs Department as Sheriffs Officer, FTO and SWAT Team member, & Castle Rock Police Department as Patrolman.

After leaving Law Enforcement, Rob continued working with the public with various companies in high end customer support positions.

His dream job finally came to him at age 69, at West Star Aviation, learning components and repair of the nose parts on private jets. This position was hard but his determination, and love of planes excelled. The mental stimulation was healthy.

Rob loved hunting, riding motorcycles, the Rocky Mountains, camping, the ocean. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, his many friends, and all his animals.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother Steven Wood.

He is survived by his wife Linda, his son Matthew Wood (Jolene), stepsons, Joseph Trigg (Tyna), Jason Trigg (Jennifer), Joshua La Brie (Amber), brother William Wood (Barb), nine grandchildren, four nieces, and three nephews.
