With solemn reverence, we commemorate Rocky W. Fox, who peacefully passed away on March 11, 2025 at the age of 67 at St. Mary's Hospital. Rocky was born in Cotulla, Texas November 11, 1957. He was the son of the late Alby Fox and Jessie Carns. Rocky was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a sergeant. He earned a Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Sharp Shooter Badge.
Rocky was a member of the Western Colorado Pickleball Club and Zippy Do Dogs Sports Club, Inc. He enjoyed playing pickleball and many dog sports including agility, dock diving, flyball, and fast cat. Rocky was a devoted dog dad to Cleo and Winston. He was a consummate outdoorsman who fished, hunted, camped, hiked and rode horseback. He was also a world traveler: Germany, Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Belize, Costa Rica, Discovery and Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and Churchill, Manitoba. Rocky traveled extensively within the United States.
Rocky was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife Dianna Fox, his children Jason Fox and Tammy Fox, grandchildren Ashley (William) Lahue, Kayla Dunn, Dakota Slenning, and David Slenning. In addition to his parents and stepfather Clifford Carns, Rocky was predeceased by sisters Terri (Robert) Erdman, Ruby Johnson, Ronda Krug.
There will be a Veterans Memorial service on March 31st at 10 am 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction. A celebration of life and a luncheon will follow the service. Please RSVP by DM to Dianna Fox, if you are interested in attending by March 24th as there will be food. Venue to be announced at the service. No flowers please.
