Psalms 23

Roger Allen Jensen.  July 17, 1955 - April 30, 2016

Roger Jensen (Butch) went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 30th.  He was born in Carmel, California to Howard and Avanell Jensen.  The family moved to Grand Junction in 1965 when he was 10.  He loved dirt bike riding and competed in Motorcross Racing in which he won many trophies.  He was a Building Contractor with H. Jensen Construction, his family's business.  At one time he had worked on the oil rigs.    He also did volunteer work at Catholic Outreach where he enjoyed helping others and was well liked.

Roger was born with a heart defect and not expected to survive.  He underwent several heart surgeries as a child.  Thanks to God, a praying mother and modern medicine, along with his amazingly strong spirit, he lived!  He was given the nickname of "Butch" by his mom, because it sounded  strong and tough, which she felt he would need to be able to survive.  He lived up to that name by prevailing and living life to the fullest.

Roger was blessed to be raised in a Christian Home, and had strong faith in God.  Therefore, we are comforted to know he is in the arms of the Lord with his parents.

Roger leaves behind his son, Travis Jensen, and daughter-in-law, Anne, Stepdaughter, Rachel and four grandchildren, Eli, Kinley, Aiden and Charlie, all of Trevor, Wisconsin, three brothers, LeRoy (Kay) Jensen of Grand Junction, Doug (Tonie) Jensen, Alamagordo, New Mexico, Bob (Jamie) Jensen, Topack, AZ, and one sister, Judy Ann (Tim) Markley, Grand Junction, CO along with aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews, and cousins.  And, best friend, Ken t Kalvar, and many others, including his dog, Doc. He was preceded in death by his parents, and the mother of his son (the one true love of his life) Shelly.

No services are planned. We would like to extend our thanks to Pastors Bob and Josh Cook and all at Victory Life Church of Fruita, for all your prayers and visits with Roger that meant a lot to him.  We, as a family, are blessed by your kindness and prayers.  God Bless You.
