Roland (Ron) Gearhart

Ron was born on June 5, 1938 to Clarence and Mabel Gearhart in Clifton, Colorado.  He attended all 12 years of school in Palisade.  In high school he was known by “Shorty”.  Enrolled at Texas A & I University, Kingsville, TX.  Ron earned his Master Barber recognition and worked for 34 years in the same shop in Aurora, Colorado.  Ron and Lynn returned to the Grand Valley in September 2000 after his retirement.

He married Lynn Gearhart in April 1985.  Roland is survived by his wife Lynn; sons, Ron (Jonie) of Cibolo, TX, David, of Fredericksburg, VA, Julia Gearhart-Soto (Robert), New Milford, CT., and Michael, Aurora, CO.  Also four grandchildren, Jordan Sawyer, Taylor Myers, Quinn Soto, and Evan Gearhart.  He was also blessed with one great grandson.

Ron loved hunting, fishing, reading about outdoor activities, and the Grand Valley in general.

He died in the comfort of HopeWest Hospice Care Center on November 3, 2021.
