A husband, father, grandfather and friend was married to the love of his life, Sandra Jean Mulnix on April 10th, 1959. Russell worked for his father at Adams Vacuum on 4th Street and served in the National Guard for 12 years, leaving as an E6. In the late 1960’s the young family of five headed on an adventure to Hawaii to open a vacuum store alongside his parents. While enjoying the beach life for two years and adding one more to the family, it was time to head home to Grand Junction. Upon returning Russell started a new career at Mountain Bell, where he worked for twenty years. He later helped open Russ Vacuum with his son, Rodney. He was a member of the Archery Club as well as The Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club. Russ was an avid silversmith, creating beautiful jewelry. Russell and Sandra loved selling their creations at flea markets and craft fairs. When not working at the vacuum store or making jewelry they would travel the world making memories. Russ enjoyed his large family and the house was full of dogs barking, kids, grand kids, nieces and nephews laughing and playing. Russ was survived by his wife Sandra, four children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation in Russell’s name to The Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club.
