Ruth Johnson

November 21, 1925 — July 19, 2016

Ruth's ancestors were homesteaders in Southern Michigan.  She married her high school sweetheart, Frederick Johnson, on August 31, 1946 and they had 42 years together.  Fred passed in 1989 and her oldest daughter, Janet Lynne passed in 1967 at age 18.  Ruth's life-time interests include antiquing, going to yard sales and auctions, reading, television, cooking, genealogy, interior design, architecture, cats, full time mothering and grand mothering her children: Fred of Michigan, Susan of North Carolina and Kathy and her husband Jerry of Colorado, her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Molly and Paul of New York, Sam and Liz of Texas, Silas and Rachael of Michigan, Annie of New Jersey, Nikki and Alex of Utah, Fred and Martel of Michigan, Kari of Michigan, along with 3 great-grandchildren, Luka, Markus (New York), Liam (Utah) and Emmy (Texas) who will be arriving August of this year.  Ruth is a published author of Ruth's Family Heirloom Cookbook - Familiar Family Food which was created by her daughter Kathy and is available on Amazon.com.  Her homemade pies are legendary!  She is a registered Rosie the Riveter and her children are also registered Rivets in her honor.

The Johnson family profoundly thanks the staff of Mantey heights Care Center and Hope West Hospice of Colorado for their loving care of Ruth.
