Ruth Elisabeth Rogers (Libby) was born July 3rd, 1949, in Minden, Louisiana to Harry and Fanny Robertson. She died May 10th, 2024, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Libby graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1971, she married Michael Rogers in Wichita, Kansas and began her passion and a lifelong career in teaching. Her other passion was her children a son Jeremy (JR) born in 1978 and a daughter Amanda in 1981. Her teaching career spanned from Wichita to Los Angeles, California and ended in retirement from the district 51 schools in Grand Junction.
Libby was an active deacon and member of her church choir at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction and as a volunteer at Lincoln Orchard Meadows Elementary.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael Rogers, of the home. Her son JR Rogers (Cydney) of Colorado Springs and daughter Amanda Rogers of San Diego, California. She is survived by a sister Caroline Durant and brothers Joe and John Robertson, and dear sister-in-law Linda Tessmer along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David.
Service will be 11 am, May 31st at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction.
