Sabrina Dawn Hartley Atwood tragically passed away while hiking with a dear friend on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024. She was born at an early age on April 10th, 1982 in Star Valley, WY. It was the beginning of a dynamic, adventurous life. In her childhood, she grew up in Wyoming where she lived in Star Valley, Cokeville, Kemmerer, and Evanston. In high school, she played softball, volleyball, and ran track. She was also active in student counsel, horse-showing, 4-H, and was a good friend. She especially adored animals and any random boyfriend her sisters brought home.
She attended the College of Eastern Utah in Price where she ran track and played volleyball. It was there she met her adored husband, Jake Atwood. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8th, 2002. They lived in Salt Lake City while Jake attended the University of Utah and Sabrina worked at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Jake’s schooling, Air Force service, and Prosthedontist career presented them with opportunities to live around the world and collect children and friends. Gage was born in Utah, Molli in Ohio, Daxlee in Texas, Pippa in Germany, and Henry in Colorado.
While in Colorado, she coached high school volleyball, taught art classes at the local elementary, hosted swim lessons, was an advocate for anything her children wanted to participate in. She loved being with her family and friends, music, art, biking, hiking, jeeping, and traveling. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a deep and abiding testimony in Jesus Christ. Sabrina was a joy and an adventure, and had a great appreciation of the ridiculous. She was full of life, and her life was full because she loved her family and friends deeply. There was always room at her table. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jake Atwood, and their children: Gage, Molli, Daxlee, Pippa, and Henry. Her parents, Ron and Claudia Hartley, and siblings: Diana (Kevin) Butler, Brenda (Richard) Bateman, Cindy (Tim) Allred, Jason (Marlena) Hartley, and Nathan Hartley. Her parents-in-law, Elwin & Peggy Atwood, and siblings-in-law: Jodi (Steve) Scott, Tyler (Hayley) Atwood, adopted brother Jacob (Tessa) Hatcher, and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
