Sharon Janet Scariano

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Sharon Janet Scariano's passing on March 6, 2025. Sharon, aged 72, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Texas on August 14, 1953, to Edgar and Melva Jones, Sharon lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. She cherished her time spent with family, friends, and her beloved dog Sophie. Her passion for travel took her to many beautiful places, including Belize, Australia, and Italy. Closer to home, she found joy in tending to her garden and spending time outdoors. Sharon was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved cooking for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, Parker, this spring.

Throughout her life, Sharon had a variety of fulfilling careers, including owning her own skincare business. She was a former member of the Rotary Club and served on the board at Community Hospital. She contributed to the Grand Junction Art center and various charities.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Edgar (Melva) Jones and her two brothers Don and Terry Jones, her husband Randy Thornton, her daughter Pamela Christine Thornton, and her husband Richard Scariano.

She is survived by her son Michael Brian (Crystal) Thornton, Ted (Erica) Scariano, Todd Scariano, and her grandchildren Kaitlyn (Hunter) Stayton, Trevor Thornton, Daniel Scariano, and Christina Scariano.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any charitable contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
