Sharon Smith

February 6, 1945 — May 24, 2020

Sharron (Shari) Dianne Smith, a Grand Junction/ Palisade native fell into an eternal rest May 24th, 2020. She moved on in her home with her trusty dog Peanut beside her and surrounded by her loved ones. Shari was born on Feb. 6th, 1945 to Arlyne and Ernest Potter at St. Mary’s Hospital. She grew to have 3 children who in turn had many children of their own. Shari had also raised three of her grandchildren to become successful and ambitious. She met the love of her life Jewel (JR) Charlene Rowley in 1994, who became a part of her life 25 years ago and has been not only a support for Shari but for her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren as well. Shari was a jack-of-all trades and invested her

time in many occupations, Construction, Nursing, Trucking, Cleaning, Auditing, Landlord, Stubborn Grandmother, and Business Entrepreneur. Along many traits it was known that she was an animal lover, who would rescue, foster, and care for many animals throughout her lifetime. Shari is survived by her partner JR, her brother William (Bill) Potter, sons; Timothy and Todd, grandchildren; Brittany (s/o Justin Sill), Alexandria (s/o Daniel), Myca (adopted granddaughter), Brandon (s/o Samantha), Kimberly (s/o Matt) , Sara B.(s/o Matthew), Amanda, Shari Jewel, Sara, Stormy, Savanah, Samantha, and Amber. (symbolically a grandmother to many more), and lastly many great grandchildren and beloved pets. She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father Arlene and Ernest Potter, Stepfather Al Wilkerson, and her daughter Tina Sue LaDuke.

The family would also like to thank Hope West Hospice services, for providing comfort and security in Shari’s time of need.
