Sheila Duran

Sheila Emma Duran age 77 died December 15, 2016 following an illness with Pancreatic Cancer.

She was born October 6, 1939 in Grand Junction Colorado. She was the daughter of the late Pedro Echave and Lugarda Velarde.

She attended Grand Junction High School.

She worked for Ultronix and Dixon’s Incorporated in Grand Junction for most of her life. She retired from the work force in 2004.

Sheila was an avid Bingo Player and spent many hours daubing with her Bingo Friends. She enjoyed watching sports especially if her children and grandchild were participants. Sheila was very friendly and loved people. She was very dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sheila along with her late husband Rudy had a love for the outdoors. Many weekends were spent in the local mountain areas. She had a passion for traveling with family and friends a few favorite spots being Las Vegas, Cruising the Mediterranean or a beloved birthday trip to New York City.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother and father, her late husband Rudy Duran and her son James Duran. She is survived by her children, Rick Duran, Sherry Duran and Sharon Duran-Neff  (Hyrum) all of Grand Junction and Shelly Duran of Springfield MO. Her Grandchildren, Michael Foster, Shilo Sullivan, Michael Passero, Rudy Duran, Anthony Passero, Christina Lively, Cody Passero  all of Grand Junction, Sheila also had 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with a luncheon following in the Parrish Hall. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope West Hospice of Grand Junction Colorado in the name of Sheila Duran.
