Shelby Richard Burke (age 25) of Grand Junction fell asleep in death on February 1 st. He was born December 16th, 1993 in Grand Junction to Shawn and Maree (Flowers) Burke of Palisade.
He grew up in Palisade and attended local schools until his junior year where he graduated via Insight School of Colorado. After a brief residence in the Roaring Fork valley where he started a career in IT (Information Technologist), he moved back to Grand Junction in 2016 where he eventually left IT and began working in the oil fields.
Shelby was a very loving son and always wanted to be liked, so his interests frequently changed from riding motorcycles with his family, skateboarding, cycling, video games, kayaking, music, going to the gym with friends, pets and his car.
Shelby is survived by his parents, sisters; Daina (Wayne) Wagner and Heather (Ande) Grillo, brother; Travis Flowers, grandmothers; Glenda Burke, Thella Burke and Myrna Becker, uncles; Clint (Brenda) Burke, Shannon (Sheri) Burke and Dustin Burke,David Wilder, Anthony Flowers, aunt; Starla (Ernie) Maez, 11 cousins and 6 nieces and nephews.
He was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and had many spiritual brothers and sisters that loved him and will miss him. Revelation 21:4 and he (Jehovah) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
