Sherri Marie Barnes

Sherri Marie (Boesch) Barnes, age 61 died March 24th, 2023, following a yearlong battle with cancer.

Born June 16th, 1961, in San Jose Calif., she was the daughter of Kent Boesch in San Jose and Billie Boesch living here in Grand Junction.

Our family moved to GJ from San Jose in 1974 where Sherri attended/graduated with GJHS class of 1979.  She moved back to San Jose for bookkeeping employment in the 1980's and got married and had both of her children there before eventually moving back here to GJ.

In the last 12 years she was an avid attendee, supporter and volunteer of Bingo groups at the City of GJ Senior Recreation Center and the Moose Lodge.  She loved socializing with the seniors in town and having fun!

She was a jokester and loved to make people laugh.  She also loved children and animals.  She had a compassionate heart when she saw an animal in need and got her cat Jasmine from Animal Shelter shortly after moving back here.  You could always see a smile on her face as she fed the birds at her home daily, 

She also loved to cook and spent weekends trying out new recipes with family members, playing board games and doting on her great-niece and nephews!

Sherri is survived by daughter Emma Barnes and son Luke Barnes, her mother Billie Boesch, sister and brother in law Bambi and Walter Hughes all in Grand Jct, father and step-mother Kent and Pam Boesch and brother Kent (Andrea) Boesch all in San Jose, Calif.
