Sheryl Diane Miller, 69, wore angel wings for her final adventure on January 10, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO., where she passed away from a sudden illness. Sheryl was born to Robert and Charlotte (Harrison) Stow, on March 22, 1949 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The Stow family relocated to Moab, Utah in 1963 when Sheryl was 14 years old where she attended Grand County Junior and Senior High schools, graduating in 1967. Sheryl married Marvin Miller on July 24, 1988 and together they enjoyed a life full of adventures, whether it was getting stuck (they called it exploring}, in the Bookcliffs or hunting for rocks in La Sal. They had many interesting hobbies, including wine making…well until the balloon exploded. Sheryl was a free spirit and lived life on her own terms, from dancing on tables to at the Sportsman’s to growing cherry tomato plants (big ones) in her living room when it got too cold outside. She enjoyed gardening, computer games and of course, her animals…goats, emus, peacocks, chickens and DOGS…LOTS & LOTS of dogs. Sheryl never met an animal she didn’t love and immediately want to take home…and if she could, she would. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved surprising people, like the time she entered her Pinto in the Moab Christmas light parade. Parade officials were expecting a horse…not a Ford Pinto lit up in Griswold fashion, blaring Christmas Carols. Her sense of humor will be a memory we all we cherish. Sheryl is survived by her husband, daughter Melissa (Burgess) of Tooele, Utah and Robert (Tracey) Hotz of La Sal, Utah; step children LeAnn (Les) Walker, Iowa and Kevin Elliott, Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Michael Burgess, California, Kimberly (Danny) Sanders and Brian Burgess of Tooele, Utah; Candice, Dustie, Hunter and Steven all of Iowa; Billy (Tawnie) of Palisade, Colorado; Malisa and Trevor of Colorado; great grandchildren Bella and Dewey, Tooele and Addison, Colorado; brother Roger Stow, Autryville, North Carolina; sister Tina (Leroy) Snyder, Grand Junction, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Charlotte. No services are planned and a family memorial will be held at a future time.
