Shirley "Florine" Harwood passed away Wednesday at LaVilla Grande in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was 88 years old.
She was born in Palisade, Colorado to Thomas and Leona Elsberry and was the oldest of six children.
Florine married Wayne Campbell at Paonia, CO and later divorced, they raised two adopted chldren. She later married Dielon C. Harwood.
Florine was devoted to her children and family. She worked in the school cafeteria, sewed and had many other jobs. She was a volunteer at the VA Hospital and very active in the VFW Auxiliary for over 50 years, the FRA Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dielon Harwood; daughter, Carol Campbell; son, Robert (Mary) Campbell; seven grandchildren; a4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha (Bill) Bryce, and Jeanne (Clayton) Wright, and many nieces, and nephews.
Florine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Leona Elsberry; brothers, Dean Elsberry and Bill Elsberry; sister, Imogene McEwan, and step-son, Jack.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on February 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.
