Steve Kissell, 49, of Fruita Colorado, passed away peacefully at HopeWest surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Denver, Colorado to Jeanie Lister and William Kissell.
He attended Clark High School in Las Vegas, NV. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Desert storm. In 1991, he met the love of his life Terri Chacon, they married and welcomed their only son, Justin.
Steve worked for Alpine Concrete Construction in Grand Junction for many years. He prided himself in his service to his country and being an avid Broncos fan. His hobbies included playing basketball, fishing, camping, and gardening. He also enjoyed bowling, watching movies, floating the river, and dancing to his favorite music. Those close to him would describe him as outgoing, friendly, funny, and free spirted. He was a dedicated family man and was always the life of the party.
He is survived by both of his parents, his wife Terri of Fruita, son Justin (Taylor) of Grand Junction, siblings: Anthony (Mindy) Serrano, Stacie Kissell Waganer and Michele (Mark) Jones.
Steve is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and countless family members who he loved dearly. He is also survived by countless friends who have become family throughout the years.
Memorial services will be held at Browns Cremation and funeral home in Grand Junction on Friday, September 17th @ 1:30 pm.
Graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita @ 3 pm.
The family is requesting attendees to wear Broncos or Patriotic clothing in remembrance of Steve.
