Tamy Shawn Neal

Tamy Shawn Neal, age 65, died March 17^th, 2024, following illness. 

Born September 3^rd, 1958, in Fullerton, California, she was the daughter of the late Evan Neal and Ella “Mabes” Larson. 

Tamy graduated the California School for the Deaf in Riverside, CA. 

After moving to Colorado from California, Tamy had been employed as a laundry technician at the Grand Junction Regional Center through Community Contracts for ten years. Tamy was also a cookie maker at Charley’s Cookies for multiple years. 

Tamy was a member of Ariel Clinical Services. 

Tamy enjoyed her family, her cat (Diana), four wheeling, swimming, air shows, and loved watching TV shows – her favorite being “Walker Texas Ranger”. 

Tamy enjoyed having quiet time to complete word searches. 

Tamy loved to teach people sign language and make people laugh.

Tamy was preceded in death by: Evan Neal (father), Ella Marie “Mabes” Larson, and multiple brothers and sisters.  

Tamy is survived by caretakers Rob and Marla DeWitt, and several siblings. 

Tamy’s favorite color was purple. Her loved ones ask everyone to wear the color purple to honor Tamy.
