Theodore “Ted” Vath, 86, of Grand Junction, passed away on May 24, 2024. He was born in Nebraska.
Ted was a beloved father survived by daughters Tedra Gummin (Daniel), Tammy Romero (Cliff), Sharon Novlan, Twila Vath-Love, and Paula Jamison (Pat). He is also survived by sisters Louisa Schaeffer and Irene Chilcott, both from Nebraska. Ted leaves behind eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Margery, son Edward, long-time companion Margaret, one sister, four brothers, and one grandson Steve.
Ted worked as a farmer in Nebraska before transitioning to Vic's Bakery as a baker upon moving to Colorado. He later purchased and operated Snow Peak Drive Inn until 1977. Ted owned and operated Intermountain Contractors, specializing in home repairs, remodels, and painting.
Ted was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church. His hobbies included playing the accordion and dulcimer, ballroom dancing with his wife and coordinating Thursday night dances at the Senior Recreation Center for over 50 years. He was also a member of the German American Club.
Rest in peace, Ted. Your legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for music and dance will be cherished by all.
