Thomas Robert Cogburn, age 75 died Saturday, July 16, 2016 following a reccurrence of a persistent illness. Born September 7, 1940 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Norel Cogburn and Minda Collins. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Cold War and was stationed in Germany during the construction of the Berlin Wall. He was a surveyor by trade working and trekking all over Colorado and Utah. Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, watching classic westerns, and rooting for the Denver Broncos.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jay Collins. He is survived by his sister Bonnie Hawthorne, Fort Collins, a daughter Carrie Cogburn, Houston, Texas, a son Thomas R. Cogburn II, and grandsons John and Michael Cogburn, Grand Junction, Colorado.
Memorial services will be held on July 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, Colorado. Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services.
