Thomas Kelley

February 17, 1943 — December 18, 2016

Thomas Wayne Kelley, age 73, was born on February 17,1943, in Moab, Utah. He passed away at Community Hospital on December 18,2016 after suffering for 3 weeks with congestive heart failure.

He was a good Husband and Father to everyone in the family. He graduated from Grand Junction high school in the year of 1961. We worked for Groendyke Transport for 24 years as a truck driver delivering hazardous material.  It was there that he saved a trailer that was on fire and got an award for it, and met his best friend, Gerald.

Some of the things he enjoyed was watching baseball and football every time it was on. One time me and him went to a baseball game. The first one we lost and got bobble heads,  the second we won and he got a father’s day hat.  Some of his hobbies was making wooden cans for my mom and other people . He was very good at wood work. He was a jokester . Every time a waitress would put the check on the table,  he would say "I didn’t order that".  He'd say  "do you take traveler checks?"  When they'd say yes,  he would say  " here you go,  take this, and I will travel."  He had a great sense of humor!

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, daughter, Kimberley both at home, six sons, Bill Kelley and Don Kelley of Salt Lake, Thomas Kelley, Missoula, MT, Robert Kelley and Kevin Kelley, of Seeley Lake, MT,  Kevin Pinson of Georgia, and two other daughters, Brenda Lewis of Salt Lake and Kathy Herbig of Columbia Falls, MT.  Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 46  great grandchildren.

He was dedicated to his wife and family his six sons, three daughters, and lots of grandchildren.  He was always helping me with my four wheeler and the garden. He also liked to help me when we went hunting together.  His funeral is going to be at Canyon View Vineyard Church at 736 24 ½ Rd  Grand Junction CO, 81505. On Tuesday,  December 27,2016 at 5 p.m.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped us through this ruff time. Thank you and God Bless You All.  Kimberley Kelley
