Thomas Mcgee

Thomas Lee McGee, 65 years old, died unexpectedly Saturday June 12, 2021.

Tom was born August 9, 1955 in Grand Junction, CO. He was the son of the late Edwin Leroy McGee and Betty Marie Hodson

Tom retired from the City of Grand Junction Street Department in August 2020, where he worked for 35 years. Tom began as a seasonal employee and worked his way to becoming a Stormwater Inspector. Tom’s vast knowledge of the storm drainage and irrigation systems made him an expert for the city, along with many other entities and people throughout the Grand Junction valley.

Tom had a strong passion for the Colorado outdoors, spending years of his life fishing, hunting, and four wheeling. He shared these passions with his family every chance he could by passing down his love and expertise for generations to come.

Tom’s kindness, generosity, and love was nothing shy of contagious to all those around him. He was gifted with a caring heart to which he especially dedicated to his family. Tom knew the importance of a hard day’s work, resilience, and perseverance through every season of life. Above all, Tom loved his family without hindrance and with great generosity. The love he showed for his family set an example of God’s love that can now be carried on for all his future generations to come. Tom was proud of the family he leaves behind and can now watch over them while resting with his Lord God in Heaven.

Tom is survived by his wife Violet McGee. Tom and Violet met in 1975 and married in 1980 celebrating over 40 years together. Tom also leaves behind  his daughter Taunya Lanier of Parker, his son Jason McKenzie of Grand Junction, his daughter Melanie Rockow of Grand Junction, his many grandchildren,  great grandchildren and extended friends and family.

Memorial Services will be Saturday June 19, 2021 10am @ Clifton Assembly of God
