Thurman "Tex" Earl Keeney, May 21, 1941-June 11, 2018 Thurman Earl "Tex" Keeney was born in DeQueen, Arkansas on May 21, 1941, to Loyd Raymond Keeney and Bessie Jones Keeney and five other siblings.
He served his country from 1959-1961 in Germany as a Spec-4. He was a truck driver, owned a bar and a construction business. In his younger years, he even ran moonshine. H worked hard on his Ford Courier and was pleased all through life that it was faster than any cop car in the county during that time. They could never catch him, he was too fast!
He loved his little dog, "GG", she was the best dog he ever knew.
Tex crafted beautiful works of art with his wood lay. He played guitar, sang and loved karaoke. He was never afraid to experience life or speak his truth. Tex was a strong fearless man, full of love and adventure. He was always grateful, humble and full of compassion. He was a real man.
With all his being, he loved his woman, Mable. It seemed as if they knew each other for a thousand lifetimes. Their love for each other could be felt just walking through the door. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Tex is survived by five children; 17 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:00 am at the Palisade Cemetery. A get together will take place at Mable's home afterwards.
