Timothy Yates Hurley, age 50, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Hope West Hospice Care Center. Born July 1, 1964 in Mineral Wells, TX, he was the son of Joyce Jeanette Leverett of Laguna Park, TX, and the late George Yates Hurley. The Hurley’s, were an “oil field family” who traveled to where ever the oil was. As Tim was growing up, he got to live in many towns and communities though out Texas and New Mexico. He was a man of many talents. In addition to being a Hair Stylist, Tim’s love for plants and knack for design, helped him to transform ordinary gardens into a visions of beauty. Tim loved Bingo, Scratcher and playing the lottery. He was a lucky player with a generous heart - when he won, he shared his winnings with others. In addition to his mother, Tim is survived by his twin sister, Tammy (Mike) Hurley-Halbert of Clifton, CO, two brothers, Danny (Pearla) Hurley of Michigan, and Robert Hurley of T or C, NM, a sister, Kyra Wharton of Wisconsin, twelve nieces and nephews, Bobby, Josh, Mimi, Joshua, John, Michael, Jacob, Colton, Chris, Haley, Nathan and Zoe. And twelve grand nieces and nephews: Temberley, Gage, Nakoda, Nevaeh, Bella, Terrennce, Xzavier, Shvannah, Laura, Elyza, Milo, Sarah, and one expected grand nephew, Daniel. Also left behind but not forgotten, are his beloved companions, Annabelle, his beloved Cocker Spaniel, and Blue Bird, his little parakeet. A celebration of life to honor Tim will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Noon at the Garden Village Apartments Community Building, 2601 Belford Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
