Tory Stoltzfus

July 27, 1992 — August 17, 2021

It is with shattered hearts and deepest sorrow that we tell you of the passing of our beloved father James (Jim) Stoltzfus and the world’s best brother Tory Stoltzfus. They passed on August 17th, 2021, next to each other. Tory has been our dad’s primary caregiver for the last four years. As some may know our dad was battling cancer and it put a great deal of stress on him, Tory, and our family.

After many rounds of chemo Jim’s heart simply wasn’t strong enough to continue and simply passed away peacefully. When Tory found him, he laid down next to him and passed a short time later from a broken heart.

Tory is survived by his Sisters Andrea Schnider, Taylor (Matthew) Brown, Trisha (David) Jackson, Colleen (Nathen) Crews, Tiffany (Curry) O’Brien and Carrie O’Brien, Stepdad Mike O’Brien, Grandmother Kathy Surmeiere, multiple nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tory is preceded in death by his beloved mother Mikki O’Brien, Grandpa Ed Golemboski, Grandpa Floyd Stoltzfus, Grandma Pat Powers, Grandma Lynn Stoltzfus, Grandpa Jack O’Brien, and Uncle Galen Stoltzfus

Tory was born in Craig, Colorado. He grew up in mostly in Craig and but also lived in Santa Fe, NM; Valencia, CA; Minot, ND; St. Lewis, MO and Basehor, KS. He moved back to Craig following the death of his mom to be with his father.

Tory was very quiet and kept a lot to himself, but when he opened up, he could be quite the chatter box. He was hilarious and tried standup comedy many times and loved it. More than anything he cherished his family and his dog Cooper. He was always there for his friends and family day or night no matter what. Tory was truly a caring and thoughtful person with so much love. He loved golfing, fishing, boating, and playing outside. He will be remembered for his love, his friendliness, and his enormous sense for humor.

A celebration of life will be held on August 28th, 2021 at Breeze Street Park at 1pm for both Tory and Jim.
