Verl L. Charlesworth, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2016, following a brief illness. Verl was born August 1, 1932 in Collbran, Colorado. He was the son of Lloyd and Doris Charlesworth who preceded him in death. Verl proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, from 1951 to 1955 onboard the Battleship the USS Iowa during the Korean War. Upon his return home, he met the love of his life, Mariellen Barks. They celebrated their 60th wedding Anniversary June 3, 2016. Verl and Mariellen made their home in Grand Junction, where Verl owned and operated Teller Arms Esquire Barber Shop for 38 years. Verl enjoyed spending time with his family, making many happy memories on Grand Mesa at their family cabin and being remembered as a great storyteller. Verl is survived by his wife; Mariellen, children; Kirk (Lee Canterbury) Charlesworth of Silt, CO, Kris (Polly) Charlesworth of Derby, KS, Kimberly (Lynn) Phillips of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Curtis Charlesworth and Rudy Charlesworth; grandchildren, Aundrea Phillips, Mattie Mullen, Elizabeth Hamlett, Nate Charlesworth, and Hunter Charlesworth. Great grandchildren; Addison Powell, Emma Charlesworth, Jaedon Powell, Shooter Mullen, Owen Charlesworth, Waylon Charlesworth and Henry Hamlett. Please come and share your memories at a luncheon and Celebration of Life which will be held at Canyon View Vineyard Church (Chapel), 736 24 ½ Rd., Grand Junction, CO at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016. A family graveside service will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Pkwy., Grand Junction, CO at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope West Hospice, 3090 N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
