Vincon “Buddy” C. David Jr., 57, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2025, with his loving wife by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 2, 1967, in Englewood, CO, to Carol “Cookie” Stafford and Vincon C. David, Buddy grew into a man known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Buddy spent much of his life working as a roofer and in the oil fields, but his talents didn’t stop there. A skilled mechanic and handyman, he could fix just about anything. He had a deep love for the outdoors, spending his time riding horses, helping cattle ranchers whenever he could, hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring new places. In recent years, he developed a passion for photography, capturing the beauty of wildlife and birds. His woodworking skills led to the creation of birdhouses, walking sticks, and chairs—each crafted with care and pride. One of his greatest accomplishments was helping build a barn, a project that filled him with joy.

Buddy never met a stranger—he loved good conversation and could often be found enjoying breakfast or lunch with friends, simply “shooting the bull.” Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was the kind of man who put others before himself. He cherished time with family, especially visits to Texas, and was overjoyed about the upcoming arrival of his first grandchild.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn; his children, Vinny David, Triston Lampshire and his wife Lauren, Cheyanne Lampshire, and Victoria David and her fiancé Cody Melnikoff; his mother, Cookie (Carol), and her husband Dale; his sisters, Laquita and her husband Jerry, and Lori and her husband Greg; extended family members Donna, Shane, Mikey, John Dale, their significant others, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father, his brothers Charlie and Blue Boy, his grandparents, and many beloved family members.

His warm heart, generous spirit, and adventurous soul will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We find comfort in knowing that his unwavering faith assured him of his heavenly home.

A celebration of Buddy’s life will be held at the DeBeque Community Center on March 15 at 2 PM to honor his memory.
