Walter S. Murdock January 1, 1925 - February 13, 2014 Walter was born in Lima, NY on January 14, 1925. He also attended school in Lima. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served for four years on PT 615, a PT 44 class cruiser during World War II. He received an American Theatre and Victory Medal for his service. On his return, he married his beloved wife, Barbara. He worked at Foster Wheeler in Clinton, New Jersey as a project estimator in the engineering field before retiring to Grand Junction. He was known for his quick wit and humor, his smile and silver-white curly hair and his prowess at horseshoes, bowling and golf. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Murdock; their two children, Robert Murdock and Mary Shero; their grandchildren, Jason Zegan, Lisa Zegan, Joe Shero, Joshua Murdock, Jessica Murdock, and his nine great-grandchildren, Melissa, Brandie, and Jason Walter Zegan; Joey and Bella Shero; Kaydence and Eli Murdock, and Trinity and Trey Murdock. The family is having a public service and remembrance at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Tuesday, February 18th at 3:00 p.m. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
