Wesley N. Kivett July 6, 1933 – December 6, 2015 Wesley Norman Kivett of Grand Junction, CO peacefully passed away at the Colorado State Veterans Community Living Center in Rifle, CO on December 6, 2015. He was born in Graham, NC on July 6, 1933. He was the youngest of three children. He was raised in Pilot Mt., NC and graduated from Pilot Mt. High School. He served in the US Navy from September 23, 1951 – 1955, and he continued to serve his country in the US Navy Reserves for four more years. He married Marilyn Marie Netzke on October 7, 1955. Together they had six children. Throughout his life he worked as a lather, mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed the great outdoors and taught his children to do the same. He was also a great fan of Western movies and novels. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kivett of Grand Junction, CO, siblings Dorothy Kivett of Denver, CO and Melvin (Gloria) Kivett of Van, TX, children David (Tracy) Kivett of Miami, AZ, Jerry (Holly) Kivett of Hemet, CA, John Kivett of Rifle, CO, Dori (Chris Smith) Kivett of Rifle, CO, Norman (Kim) Kivett of Grand Junction, CO and Louise (Stephen) Nelson of Fort Worth, TX, 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His parents Lewis H. Kivett and Geraldine Kivett preceded him in death. The memorial service will be held on January 8th, 2016 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado (2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO 81501) at 1pm. All are welcome to come celebrate his life with his friends and family.
