Willa Rae Hillis

October 23rd, 1946 to May 17th, 2019

Willa Was born in Kellogg, ID to James and Pauline Lemon. Growing up she lived in Kellogg, ID, Moab, UT and Baldwin Park, CA before settling in Cedaredge, CO for 30 years and coming to Grand Junction for the last 20 years.

One of Willa’s personal achievements (besides being proud of her family) was the 14 years she spent as a caregiver at the Regional Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Judy Kelly, and Wanda Ford. Willa is survived and loved by her brother Jim Lemon of Arizona, Son Bruce Hillis and wife Dawna of Delta, CO. Daughter Denise Benton and Husband James of Grand Junction. 5 grandchildren, Brad Clark, Stesha Clark, BaeAnn Deegan, Chantelle Hillis, and Brenda Hillis all of Grand Junction. One Great Granddaughter Sammantha Clark and one on the way due June 2019.

She was a loving grandmother and best friend. Willa has definately marked her place in this world and on our hearts. Never was there a stronger, braver fighter with such Grace and Love.

A small gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date per Willa’s request.
