William (Bill) Martin, age 84 died Sunday, March 24, 2019.
Born April 7, 1934 in Pueblo, CO, he was the son of Joseph and Bessie Martin.
He attended Pueblo Central High school and served in the US Navy during the Korean war. As a youth he had a large paper route that he was very proud of.
Bill worked for Colorado Department of Highways (now CDOT) for 32 years and enjoyed purchasing the heavy equipment.
Bill was a lifetime member of the BPOE (Elks) where he spent a lot of time with family and friends. He also spent time as a Boy Scout leader and Little League baseball coach for his two sons.
He enjoyed playing golf, hanging out with friends, and watching the Denver Broncos.A true handyman he had an immaculate yard and was always willing to help the neighbors fix things or jump in a help with the chore of the moment.
Dedicated to his wife, family and friends, he was very loyal and fun to be around. Quick to be your friend, Bill enjoyed being around other people and talking about the news of the day. Everyone he came in contact with enjoyed his presence and spirit. A recurring comment was that “Bill is a truly nice man”.
Bill was preceded in death by his Wife Patricia (Pat) Martin.
He is survived by sons William (Laura) Martin of Basalt, CO and Brian (Wendy) Martin of Grand Junction, CO. Three grand children and two great grand children.
