William Henry Newcomer IV

April 8, 1946 – December 15, 2016

William “Bill” Newcomer passed away peacefully, at the Hope West Hospice Care Center, in Grand Junction, Colorado, on December 15, 1946, with his wife, Susan by his side.

Bill was born in Denver, Colorado to William and Gertrude Newcomer, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and the University of Denver.

He lived every moment to the fullest, and always as the “Adventurer”.  Bill owned an Athletic Club in Lyons, CO, was a Journeyman Electrician, and a Project Manager in Construction, Oil and Gas. He migrated to Australia in 1990, working for the Sydney Water Board, and obtained dual citizenship. Returning to Phoenix, Arizona, he married Susan in 2000.  He taught Project Management for IBM, and other large corporations all over the world.  In 2003, Bill worked in Alaska for JCI and Honeywell, managing projects from Shemya Island in the Aleutians, to Fort Greely and the North Slope.  Moving to Palisade in 2011, he achieved his dream of owning a peach farm. Bill retired in 2012, and focused on his peaches, grapes, and renovation of the house, spending his last years from wiring the house, to actual construction.

Bill was a member of the Palisade Methodist Church, and Board of Directors for Caprock Academy.  He cherished his pups, Nanook and Sadie, and took them with him everywhere. Bill also loved technology, electronics, hiking, skiing, camping, politics, America, and Freedom.  He will be truly missed by his wife, Susan, and the friends and family that loved him.  He is also survived by his sons, Nathaniel, Will, and Todd; Daughter, Jessica; Stepsons, Blake and Wyatt; and grandchildren, Hunter, Samantha, Henry, Ella, and Riley.

A Celebration of his Life will be scheduled for Spring, his favorite time in Palisade. A memorial bench in Riverside Park Palisade, CO will be placed in his memory.
