Rev. William Redeker

Rev. William “Bill” Noel Redeker, age 91, died September 8, 2022 in Grand Junction, CO of natural causes.

Born July 4, 1931, in Mishicot, WI, Bill was the son of the late Arthur and Libbie Redeker. Bill graduated from Mishicot High School, attended Concordia College in Milwaukee, WI, and then went on to the Seminary. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1958. During his initial placement interviews for the ministry, Bill requested that the Seminary not place him on the West Coast or with a new mission church. He began his ministry in Los Gatos, CA starting a new mission church. It was there that Bill met Anita Alma Seyfried. They were united in holy matrimony on October 25, 1959. “The Twins,” Kathleen & Michael, arrived in July 1962. Pastor Redeker received and accepted the call to serve as pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sheboygan in the spring of 1965. He served the Lord at Our Savior until his retirement in 1996. Bill was always on the go. He served two congregations as interim pastor after retirement: Zion Lutheran Church in Terra Bella, CA and Trinity Lutheran Church in Exeter, CA.

Bill enjoyed gardening, reading, taking walks (schputz) especially at Terry-Andrea, making chili “soup,” and pork chop casserole. He especially enjoyed his time with family!

Bill was a kind, gracious, fun-loving person who loved to be around people. He enjoyed always being on the move.

Bill was a servant of Christ Jesus first and foremost. His Christian faith guided and shaped him to reach out and help others. He was hardworking, and a very dedicated husband and father.

Pastor Redeker was preceded in death by; his wife, Anita, sister Ethel Mai Vander Logt, and his parents. He is survived by daughter Katie Brozovich (John) and son Rev. Michael (Mary); grandchildren Bridget, Aaron, Max, Sam, Victoria Eads (Tim), Gemma, and Sean; and great-granddaughter Aya Redeker; niece Kay Lynn Holbrook (Rex) and nephew Roger Vander Logt; niece Heidi Garwood (Richard) and Roger Heath (Peggy).

Home Going service will be Saturday, September 17, 2022. Service will be at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church: 917 Mead Ave. in Sheboygan. A visitation and viewing will take place from 9-11 am at the church preceding the service.
