William Wood

William Jeffrey “Jeff” Wood, 65, passed away unexpectedly July 4, 2021 in Grand Junction, CO.  His wife Dorothy and sister-in-law and brother-in-law were at his side.  Jeff was born February 1, 1956 in Denver, CO.  He was the son of the late William Lloyd and Virginia Y. Wood and was the third of 10 children.  He graduated from Big Sandy High School in Simla, CO.

He worked jobs in construction throughout Colorado and took great pride in doing a good job.  He was a Veterans of Foreign Wars  Auxiliary member at Pueblo West Post #5812 for many years.  Jeff enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding, golf, bowling and volleyball with family members.  He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and enjoyed the NASCAR races.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents William Lloyd and Virginia Y. Wood, grandparents Glen and Carrie Wood and Thomas and Della Martinez, and his brother David Wood.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 25 years; stepsons Scott Walter and Mathew Worline; brothers Tom (Connie) Wood; Michael (Paula) Wood; Keith Wood and Robert Wood; sisters Christine (Roger) Evans, Glenda Mead, Stephanie McCallister, and Pam (Steve) Fair; mother-in-law Eleanor Ford; sisters and brothers-in law Phil and Linda Reinpold and Larry and Dolores Ford; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Dolly and Sugar.

A Memorial Service will be held July 25, 2021 at 11 AM at Veterans of Foreign Wars Joe Will Post #6612, 419 4th Ave, Hugo, CO  80821.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
