Frances Garcia

Frances Garcia, age 85, died peacefully December 3rd, 2017 of natural causes at Hope West Care Center surrounded by family. Her Memorial services will be held December 11th, 2017 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church 1210 17  1/2 Road Fruita, Colorado 81521. Frances was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, siblings, two sons David and Santos Crespin and Granddaughter Samantha Crespin. Frances is survived by Rudy(Jan) Crespin, Sam(Diane) Crespin, and James(Danielle) Crespin as well as 9 Grand Children, 8 Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews. Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services. Please make Memorial contributions to Hope West Care Center.

Born February 15th, 1932 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Santos Romero and Teresa Blea Romero. She grew up on a farm in “the canyoncito” with her siblings Greg Romero, Phillip Romero, Lupe Todd and Joe Romero. She met Rudolph Crespin in Silt, Colorado and they married and moved to Loma, Colorado and started a family, Rudolph Crespin Jr., Samuel Crespin, David Crespin, Santos Crespin and James Crespin. In 1974 Frances and three of her sons moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to her sister and family, where she worked and retired from the Carnation Company. In 1993 she moved back to the Grand Valley to be with her son’s and their families after losing two of her five sons. She remarried in the late 1990’s to Val Garcia and was widowed in early 2000’s.

Frances was a faithful devoted Catholic all her life, she relished in attending church especially St Josephs for whom she was a member of. She was a loving, caring and forgiving Mother. Very friendly, yet quiet. She delighted in a good joke, Westerns, yard selling and sewing/crocheting. Traveling to or with family, telling stories of her youth riding horses and eating crispy porkchops, upbeat Spanish music and dancing.  Frances was a worrier and a prayer. She was always worrying about her five boys. And one of them was always in trouble. She would always pray for the boys and ask God to keep them safe. Her faith in the Lord was unmatched. Breakfast was her favorite meal, she enjoyed cooking and could turn leftovers into gourmet meals. Her tortillas were everyone’s favorite, she could whip them out fast and perfectly round, always offering a torn off piece of one with melted butter on top. Family enjoyed eating at her house and she was always trying to feed them. Frances was not “wealthy”, her “wealth” was her Family and Faith. All she ever wanted was for her Family to be happy, love the Lord, love one another and her. She adored her Grand and Great Grandchildren the most and always had a safe, warm and loving place for them to stay.
