Joan Sisson

August 20, 1935 — December 9, 2021

Joan was born 8/20/1935 in Chicago, Ill to Bernice Sadowski and Victor Capadona. She married Ronald Kuxhausen and they went into business by owning a Mobile Gas station on the corner of 5th and Pitkin in Grand Junction, Co. They installed the very first automatic car wash in the city. They then opened a used furniture store called Ace Furniture on the top of fifth street hill. It was a successful business, so they also opened a new furniture store called Valley Furniture. Joan was not content with just a couple stores, she also targeted the entire market on used clothing, shoes and accessories called Twice As Nice. Joan was very energetic and was quite the business woman. She had three children, Kurt and Joanne Kuxhausen; along with their children, Norrice and Robert Derner; whose children are Angela and Chad Corder, Thomas and Kelley Bishop, Anthony Micheal, deceased, Veronica Palacios and her two children Eros and Belle, Samantha Bishop and her son Kayman and daughter Sydney, Cody and Danielle Derner and their children Blakely and Ashyton, and finally Jessica Joanne Bishop along with her daughter Leila; and David and Jeanette Kuxhausen, along with their children and many grandchildren. Her first grandchild, Angela Corder was lucky to come see her in her final days. And we all are grateful for Thomas Bishop for all his care and explanations of care.

A Celebration of life will take place this summer when all the family can gather together and share some happy moments.
