Joe Rendon

April 5, 1929 — July 8, 2015

Joe I Rendon, born April 5, 1929, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, surrounded by his family.  Born in New Mexico, he spent his early years in Helper, Utah.   Joe proudly served as Sergeant in Pusan, Kansai and Incheon during the Korean War.  For many years, Joe was a long distance truck driver with Rio Grande Motorway.  63 years ago, Joe married Erma Dimick and she survives him.  He was proud of their children, Shanna Rendon of Grand Junction, Donna Rendon Chapel of Fort Collins, Michele Rendon of Salt Lake City, Utah and Michael Rendon of Austin, Texas.  According to Joe, some of his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren, Jessica Chapel Dean, Lindsey Rendon, Joshua Chapel, Alexis Rendon and Caitlin Rendon.  Joe loved animals and cared for numerous feral cats and neighborhood dogs.  His favorite cat, Asia, spent this last days lying at his side.    Joe will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and the mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
