Kevin Weathers

Kevin Sean Weathers was born to Gary Lee and Joylien (McGruder) Weathers in Grand Junction, Colorado on September 28th, 1987.  He was welcomed by big sister Kelly, then joined by little brother Kennt. Kevin attended Mesa View Elementary, O.M.M.S. and graduated from Central High School.

Kevin was an artist and an adventurer, searching for happiness, love, and acceptance. He traveled with family from one side of the country to the other and with friends to as many Rainbow Family Gatherings as possible. He worked and played at the gatherings where he made new friends that quickly became family. Burning Man Festival was a favorite adventure that he planned to attend and work again. Art classes at C.M.U., where he wanted to learn to do art welding, were in his future. Kevin's art ranged from graffiti painting (for which he paid many fines) to sketchbooks full of art that expressed his love happiness sadness and pain. Kevin was kind giving and compassionate and was forever rescuing and helping lizards, snakes, furry animals, friends, and strangers. His home was in Colorado, but his heart was always in the wind as he planned his next adventure.

Kevin is met in heaven by Grandpas-Wayne Weathers and Wren McGruder, Uncle Jack McGruder, Aunt Sandy Ohm, best friend Ryan Burns and too many other friends.

He is survived by parents Gary and Joy Weathers, sister Kelly, brother Kennt, Grandmas Nita Weathers and Judy McGruder, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends he considered family.

A picnic celebration for Kevin will be held on Saturday, April 23rd from 11:00 to 3:00 at Eagle Rim Park in the west shelter, bring a chair or blanket for seating. To honor Kevin's memory please be kind, giving and compassionate towards those less fortunate or in need.
