MARIAN FARRELL, 76 Marian Elizabeth (Bennett) Farrell, age 76 passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2015. She was born to William and Marian (Obechina) Bennett on September 28, 1939 Marian attended West High School and University of Denver Colorado Women’s Campus. Throughout High School, she participated in Job’s daughters and was a member of Eastern Star. Family and friends were Marian’s passion and delight. She was a great example to many throughout her life, assisting people wherever she could and offering encouragement or insight. Grandkids and great-grandkids experienced many adventures and created many memories thanks to her love for children. She loved to cook and entertain and frequently hosted gatherings, including holiday meals and Redstone family reunions. She loved to travel, experience new things, hear stories of others’ travels, and try new restaurants. Later, Marian was a member of the Colorado Cactus & Succulent Society as well as a monthly wine club. She was well known and liked by neighbors and had numerous lifetime friends. She loved to garden, cook, and experience local produce. She was passionate about many political issues and loved to share her opinion of them, in fact, her last conversation with a couple of family members was to encourage them to vote on a measure on the upcoming local election that she felt was important. Marian is survived by: her husband, Robert Farrell; her daughter, Kathy (Harry) Gerlock; Grandchildren, Brad Stickler, Kristy Schumacher, Tommy Taylor, and Mary Gerlock; Great-Grandchildren, Sean Richardson, Austin Taylor, Jolene Schumacher, Carter Stickler, Rowan Stickler, and Nate Tayler; Sisters Janet Armstrong and Sharon Sedlmayr; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family is deeply affected by this loss but is so grateful for the legacy she left behind and comforted to know that she and her son, Bill Stickler have been reunited, as well as with numerous other relatives who have preceded her in death. Services will be held at Brown’s Cremation Services on Friday, November 6th, 10:00 am, at 904 N. 7th St in Grand Junction, CO; followed by a luncheon at the LDS church at 2542 G Rd in Grand Junction. In the spring, immediate family will place her and her son’s ashes in plots in Bald Mountain Cemetery near Central City, CO.
