William “Bill” Dean Schmidt, 78, died December 9, 2021, following an illness. Bill was born August 18, 1943, in San Diego, California to Bernard and Virginia Schmidt. Bill graduated from Plateau Valley High School in 1961. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during Vietnam. Bill was an electrician for several years working for B & B Electric in Grand Junction. The last few years before retiring he worked in maintenance at St Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. Bill was an active member at Bethel Assembly of God serving as a board member, usher, and deacon. He loved to camp and hike. He had a sweet servant’s heart and would help anyone he could. He was hard working, dedicated to his family and always willing to serve. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Virginia Schmidt, his sister Jeanne Mancini, nephew Charlie Stucker and grandson Dustin Adamek. Bill is survived by his wife Vicki Schmidt, son Randall and wife Tonia Schmidt, daughter Corrina and husband Michael McLaughlin, grandchildren Brady and wife Brittany Adamek, Ethan Adamek, Dannica and husband Aaron Shilts, Chandler and wife Ashley Schmidt, Josiah Schmidt, Matthew Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, and 3 great grandsons.
Memorial services will be December 15, 2021, at 6:00 pm at Bethel Assembly of God, 2945 Orchard Ave, Grand Junction, CO. They will be LIVE streaming it through Bethel’s Facebook page (4) Bethel Assembly of God | Facebook.
Graveside services will be January 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO.
